Principal John Curtis said the graffiti was cleaned up before students arrived for classes.
"The students are all safe in the classrooms. For us, it's business as usual. A lot of the kids don't know what is going on," Curtis said.
The principal said most of the damage was outside, where lunch tables, statues, potted plants and concrete trash cans were destroyed and strewn across the school yard.

"It's just a shame that people came to do that when this is a place for kids," Curtis said.
A damage estimate was unavailable.
